How It Works
Before I prepare a Personalised Learning Plan for your child, I will assess your child's skills in maths, reading and writing. This will allow me to establish your child's learning needs and create learning targets that we will work towards achieving together.
I tutor in small group settings, consisting of no more than four children at a time. This social environment allows children to feel less pressured than in one-to-one tutor situations, and allows friendships to be created and learning to occur more naturally.
Each session lasts 90 minutes, and this includes a quick chat with yourself at the end of the session about your child's activities and any achievements. Each 1 and a half hour session costs £22, or £20 per session if a four week block is booked and paid for in advance. (Please note that this is non-refundable should you wish to cancel your child's tutoring.)
Your child's Personal Learning Plan will meet their learning needs by approaching them through a variety of traditional and active teaching methods. These include worksheets, textbooks, computer software to support target development, tablet games and practical hands-on equipment. This variation ensures that studying never becomes boring and repetitive, and instead remains enjoyable in an environment that is both calm and fun!
I believe that praise and encouragement are essential in building confidence in learning, and I use a variety of methods to ensure that each child feels proud of their achievements. As well as earning both stickers and certificates, your child will earn points as they progress through their Personal Learning Plan. These points can be exchanged for a selection of exciting prizes!
There are currently sessions available on Monday and Tuesday evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings. If you would like to come along to view the class room or to ask any questions, please feel free to contact me.
